Applicants need to understand the office requirements along with the personal social aspect of Hostelling.
The successful candidate needs to be fluent in English, extremely dedicated to the role and to his/her staff, knowledgeable of the inner workings of hostels and should enjoy every minute of the work... even the bad times. The role involves doing rosters, staff management, banking, emailing, dealing with guests, brainstorming, trouble shooting, meeting targets and deadlines, motivating the hostel crew and guests and making the hostel the best possible environment for tourists. Working weekends will be required on rotation...but you already knew that.
